Cable Transport: An Ally for the Future of Soft Mobility - The Urban Cable Car by POMA

According to the International Energy Agency, the transport sector is the main source of CO2 emissions in France, with about 40% of total emissions. Faced with the problems arising from urban expansion, it is essential to use less emitting modes of transport.

POMA proposes decarbonated mobility solutions adapted to urban areas thanks to the design, realization and maintenance of cable transport systems.

The urban cable car project between Fontaine and St-Martin-le-Vinoux in Isère is one of these solutions. This new cableway between the two towns will take the form of twelve-seat booths. The infrastructure will be equipped with DirectDrive technology, which reduces energy consumption and noise emissions.

The cable car will allow the residents of the Grenoble area to fly over the A480 freeway and the two banks of the Drac River, passing by the peninsula that houses the scientific campus and its 10,000 researchers, as well as a residential eco-district.
