Co-Constructing a Smart, Inclusive and Sustainable City - The Microville 112 Project
The current context of climate, health and economic crisis calls for the implementation of new, more resilient models. This transformation takes place primarily at the territorial level and more particularly in cities, which are catalysts for growth and development. The Microville 112 project is part of this dynamic.
As part of the handover of the -vacant since 2011- former air base 112 to the municipality of Courcy near Reims, the Alliance Sens et Économie cooperative has been mandated to implement the Microville 112 project: a real estate program for the sustainable revitalization of the territory on 90 hectares.
The micro-city follows a triple dynamic of low carbon, circular economy and territorial co-development that will enable it to meet the requirements of the European Green Deal and the French ELAN law on energy performance as early as 2025.
It is equipped with its own energy infrastructure integrating renewable energies, its waste sorting and regeneration system for natural space, and its eco-responsible digital infrastructure.
In addition to its environmental and climate goals, the city aims to create a local ecosystem that favours employment. It is home to more than 200 companies with a variety of activities that are part of a circular economy.
